My life as "Advisor"

Ever wonder what it's "really" like to be an advisor to the Iraqi Army? No? I'm shocked!! :-)

But this comic captures it pretty well. On more than one occasion I'd thought I'd really made a connection only to realize later that either they didn't understand me or just ignored me. I'm never sure which it is. I've now worked with Col Abbas long enough that I can tell when he doesn't know what I'm talking about. He's smile and say 'yes', or 'yeah'. That means "I have no idea what you just said but I'm not going to be so rude as to ask you to repeat yourself". This place is great fun.
